CARLISLE United are working 'very hard' to sign more players during the summer transfer window according to manager Paul Simpson.

The EFL transfer window officially opened on Friday, June 14, with the Blues already making four additions to their side for the upcoming 2024/24 League Two season.

To date, Carlisle have announced the arrivals of Scottish goalkeeper Jude Smith, experienced 22-year-old defender Cameron Harper from Inverness Caledonian Thistle, and Aaron Hayden from Wrexham AFC for his second spell at the club.

In the last 48 hours, the club has also confirmed the signing of Saint Lucian defender Terell Thomas on a two-year deal following his departure from Charlton Atheltic.

Despite being in the early stages of the window, Simpson revealed that the club is pressing ahead with their transfer objectives.

Speaking on the club's website, he said: "We've still got one area in defence to resolve which we're working on.

"We're obviously also working on other things, but I don't like to say whether things are close are not because it always comes back to bite me on the backside.

"We are working very hard to get players into the building and we'll keep going until they're here with us."
