CARLISLE United are set to find out who they face in the first round of the Carabao Cup as details of the draw are revealed.

The draw will take place at 11.30 am on Thursday, June 27, and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports News, with Blues being ball number nine.

The competition is regionalised at this stage, with two separate draws taking place for the northern and southern sections.

League One and League Two clubs enter the competition in the first round. Most Championship sides will also be involved apart from Burnley and Luton, who join in the second round along with the 13 Premier League clubs not competing in Europe.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea will all join in the third round.

Paul Simpson's side were knocked out of the 2023/24 edition of the competition, which culminated with Liverpool defeating Chelsea in the Wembley final, in the first round.

Sam Folarin's first-half strike was enough to knock Carlisle out of the cup after the Blues traveled to Wetherby Road to take on Harrogate Town.
