FORMER Carlisle United Academy product Josh Galloway has joined Workington Reds.

The 22-year-old makes the move to Borough Park after his two-year spell at Annan Athletic came to an end.

Galloway joined Carlisle United’s academy system at Under-10 level and featured in the Blues' first-team pre-season schedule in the summer of 2019

He started friendly fixtures against Fleetwood Town and Tranmere Rovers and scored at Penrith AFC before moving to Leeds United without breaking into the first eleven.

Speaking on the club's website, Reds manager Mark Fell, said: "I'm delighted to have Josh at Borough Park.

"I briefly worked with him at Lancaster when was potentially coming in on loan from Leeds.

"He has all the attributes that we are looking for in that type of player, he's strong, fast, technically excellent, and can be used in a range of positions.

"I remember him torturing my Lancaster side when he played for FC United, he knows the division and in my opinion can still progress much higher.

"We want to give him a platform and environment to do that."

Galloway added: "I'm delighted to sign for Workington

"After a lot of positive conversations with the manager, I feel it's the right move for me to progress as a player.

"I'm looking forward to getting started and working with some familiar faces.

"Personally, I want to create a lot of chances and score goals as well as working hard for the team and having a right good go at being in the top half of the table by the end of this season."
