We shared the news that Andrew Jenkins, the businessman who gave his life to Carlisle United, has died.

The Blues confirmed the sad news on July 3.

United, where Mr Jenkins had served as a director since 1959, including long spells as chairman and owner, paid a heartfelt tribute.

Trevor Gillian Marland said: "A true gentleman who loved the club and put a lot of time and money in. Rest in peace Andrew."

Julie Forrester said: "So sorry to read this sad news. Worked for Andrew for many years, he was a very good and very fair boss, and I had so much respect for him. Condolences to all of Andrew's family. Rest in peace Mr Jenkins you've been one of the best."

Harry Hodgson said: "Had the pleasure of working for Mr Jenkins for 17 years having loads of banter about Carlisle and the Reds."
