Details for Carlisle United's Carabao Cup clash with Stoke City have been confirmed.
The Blues will take on the Championship side at Brunton Park on Tuesday, August 13 with a 7.30pm kick-off.
The first round encounter will be United's first competitive encounter with the Potters since the 1985/86 season when the clubs were Division Two opponents.
Now the sides are in the fourth and second tiers respectively as Paul Simpson's United aim to cause an upset against a Stoke side managed by Steven Schumacher, who played on loan for Carlisle under Simpson in 2003.
The game will be Carlisle's first home fixture of the 2024/25 campaign.
It was also confirmed this week that the game will be shown live on the Sky Sports + channel.
Ticket details will be confirmed in due course.
