FORMER World Player of the Year Delfina Merino is set to lead a specialist summer goalscoring camp at Carlisle Hockey Club.
The camp, which will be held at the club on Etterby Scaur on Tuesday, August 13, will be led by the Argentinian international who has over 300 caps for her country.
Merino also counts two Olympic silver medals from London 2012 and Tokyo 2020 and an International Hockey Federation World Cup win in 2010 amongst her various accolades.
The camps have been organised by English hockey legend Maddie Hinch's MH1 Coaching, with Carlisle featuring as one of only seven selected venues across the UK.
Like Merino, Hinch boasts two Olympic medals, including gold at Rio 2016, and has been named World's Best Goalkeeper on three occasions.
At the local event, sessions will be catered to both goalkeepers and goal scorers and there are set to be both under-18 camps for those aged 7-17 and adult camps for those aged 18-80.
A spokesperson for Carlisle Hockey Club said: "We are thrilled to announce that Delfina Merino, World Player of the Year 2018, current Argentina international, and Olympic Silver Medallist, will be leading the goal-scoring camp."
