Former Carlisle United loan star Callum O'Hare has sealed a Championship move.

He has signed for Sheffield United on a four-year deal after leaving Coventry City.

The attacking midfielder has joined the Blades as they return to the second tier after last season's relegation.

It is the latest move in the career of the 26-year-old who played for the Blues in the 2018/19 season.

O'Hare was a sought-after player this summer after an impressive four-year spell with Coventry.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder told the club's website: "I don't think there is a club in the Championship, and certainly some teams in the Premier League, who wouldn't relish the opportunity to work with Callum.

"Quite simply he is a talented individual and we are thrilled he wanted to take the next stage of his career with us."

O'Hare said he was "buzzing" at the move and added: "It is a big club; I had some interest from some other teams and other leagues but I just thought that this was the right step in my career so I can't wait to go out there now and play."

O'Hare joined Carlisle on loan from Aston Villa in January 2019 under Steven Pressley.

He made 16 appearances and scored three goals, with his effort against Swindon Town proving his first in the EFL.

The Solihull-born player also found the net for the Cumbrians in games against Bury and Crawley Town.

Having come through the ranks at Villa, he joined Coventry on loan for the 2019/20 season then signed for the Sky Blues permanently in the summer of 2020.

He scored ten goals in 36 appearances for Mark Robins' men last season including one in the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United.
