Former Carlisle United prospect Romeo Park has signed for Carlisle City ahead of the new season.

West Cumbrian forward Park had been on trial with Workington Reds during pre-season.

But the teenager has now opted to return to Gillford Park, where he spent time on loan last term.

Park was released by the Blues at the end of his two-year scholarship last season.

He now links up with a City side managed by the former United defender Dan Kirkup, who replaced Jim Nichols at the helm this summer.

City, confirming the 18-year-old's arrival, said: "We are delighted to welcome new signing Romeo Park.

"The former Carlisle United youth player joins up with us having spent a month here on a loan arrangement last season.

"We look forward to seeing him in action in Sky Blue once again."

Park featured in the United first team during 2023's pre-season, and he was on the bench for the Bristol Street Motors Trophy game against Harrogate Town last November.

He played against the Blues for Workington as a substitute in last Saturday's 0-0 draw at Borough Park.

City had previously unveiled Liam Lightfoot and Kieran Blair as new signings ahead of the new Northern League Division One campaign.

Lightfoot, the former United youth team product, has previously been with Workington, while Blair has returned for a second spell at City.

The Carlisle club's Division One opening game comes on Saturday, July 27 when Kirkup takes his side to Tow Law Town.
