Carlisle United's new kits are outselling even last year's record-breaking strips.

New figures revealed by the club show how their 2024/25 replica kits are being snapped up by fans.

The Blues say that, in the first three weeks since the launch of their new home and away kits, total sales income is up by 49 per cent on the similar period two years ago.

And their new Umbro designs are even selling more than last season's kits, which set new records at the club for sales.

United's new green, pink and blue away shirt is proving the most popular, with about 3,200 shirts sold in the first three weeks, and 2,500 home shirts.

Online sales were two-and-a-half times higher than the previous period, the Blues added.

The figures, revealed in a monthly update from the club to supporter groups, show how United are so far more than emulating the success of their previous kit launches.

In notes attached to the figures, United say: "The 2023/24 kit was a huge record-breaker - so far the 2024/25 kit is selling even faster."

Carlisle's 2023/24 strips proved hugely popular, including their 90s-themed home shirt and the lurid and iconic yellow, pink and black 'fruit salad' away shirt.

This season's kits see the home shirt an homage to the kit worn by the club in its only top-flight season of 1974/75, to mark the 50th anniversary.

Carlisle involved some legendary players from that era - Ray Train, Bobby Owen, Les O'Neill and Tom Clarke - when launching the kit.

The away strip, meanwhile, is another multi-coloured offering after the huge success of the 'fruit salad'.

Carlisle have also said that they had sold 3,150 season tickets for the new campaign as of July 15.

On the commercial front, meanwhile, United are preparing to instal new LED pitchside advertising boards inside Brunton Park.

These are set to be put in place in the first week of August, the club said.
