Matty Lamb from Brampton Golf Club secured the Coca-Cola PGA Assistants’ Championship title, with an impressive 16-under-par score.

The victory secured Mr Lamb a £5,000 prize, a spot in the 2025 PGA Play-Offs, and a year's supply of Coca-Cola products.

Mr Lamb is currently doing his PGA training at Brampton Golf Club, the same team he represented at the tournament.

He came out strong and finished five shots ahead of his final round playing partner Alister Balcombe of Weston Super Mare Golf Club.

Over the course of three rounds, Mr Lamb clocked scores of 66, 70 and 64 at Farleigh Golf Club.

The win sees Mr Lamb follow in the footsteps of golf legends Peter Alliss, Tony Jacklin, and Barry Lane.

After the win, Mr Lamb said: "It feels really good - I was happy with my week, all week.

"I wanted to win when I came and I achieved my goal, so it feels good.

"8-under today out there was really good.

"I didn't expect it when I came here this morning with how windy it was, but I got off to a really good start.

"I was 5-under through 9, and then birdied 10 and 11 - then after that, I was quite far ahead, so I felt like I could play with a bit of freedom and enjoy it coming in.

"I felt like I didn’t play as well yesterday, so it was nice to bounce back today - I was really happy with my round."

He also said: "Winning the tournament is going to help my confidence and I've got a lot more events to play this season.

"It was my first time at Farleigh and hopefully it won't be my last - I'd love to come back and play, maybe on a calmer and sunnier day.

"Not only have the members made us feel really welcome, but I think they've saved me a few shots looking for a ball in the rough this week as well. So, I can't thank the club enough

Mr Lamb fended off strong competitors, including Joshua Bristow from Queenwood who scored a course record 10-under-par 62 on the second day of the tournament.

Ross Knights, national account manager for Sports and Leisure at Coca-Cola, said: "This is a real honour for us at Coca-Cola.

"We've been sponsoring this tournament for 16 years now, so it's a long-standing partnership that we really value and are proud of as a business.

"Between Coca-Cola and The PGA, there's two fantastic brands there that we can bring together to drive some real initiatives and partnerships within golf - thank you to everyone who's participated in organising the tournament, from the PGA logistics team right through to the media - it's been a real team effort and a fantastic week as a partner."
