Former Carlisle United favourite Omari Patrick scored in a trial outing for Tranmere Rovers as he bids to earn a deal.
The ex-Blues forward came off the bench to find the net in Tranmere's 3-1 pre-season victory against Blackpool on Tuesday.
Patrick has not been officially named by the Wirral club but he has been referred to as 'Trialist A' - who netted a minute from time at Prenton Park with a counter-attacking goal.
United's 2023 Wembley play-off final goalscorer had already appeared for Nigel Adkins' side in pre-season.
The 28-year-old, who left relegated Sutton United at the end of last season, now appears to have a good chance of returning to League Two with one of Carlisle's rivals.

A move to Tranmere would also see Patrick reunited with his former Blues team-mate Kristian Dennis.
Both were on the pitch in the closing stages of Tuesday night's game in Birkenhead.
Carlisle face Tranmere early in the new season, with Adkins' side visiting Brunton Park on August 31, before the return game at Prenton Park on January 4.
Patrick had two spells on United's books between 2020 and 2023 making 109 appearances in total and scoring 21 goals.
The most famous of those goals was the late equaliser at Wembley in 2023's League Two play-off final against Stockport County, which took the game to extra-time and then penalties as Carlisle won promotion.
He turned down the chance to stay at Brunton Park after promotion, insisting he wanted to play as a winger - something Paul Simpson could not guarantee him.
The former Bradford City and Burton Albion attacker moved on to Sutton and made 43 appearances for the south London club, who finished second bottom of League Two in 2023/24 and returned to the National League.
The 28-year-old duly turned down the offer of a new contract at Gander Green Lane
