Carlisle United's opponents Gillingham have made a new signing days before they host the Blues on the opening day of the season.
Attacking midfielder Euan Williams has joined Mark Bonner's squad in the build-up to Saturday's curtain-raiser against the Cumbrians.
The 21-year-old has been training with the Kent club and played in pre-season friendlies, and has now agreed a permanent deal.
He could now be in contention to feature in the Gills squad for the first game of the 2024/25 League Two campaign this Saturday.
Williams had been with Charlton since the age of seven until he was released at the end of last season, having made one senior appearance. He is also a Northern Ireland Under-19 and Under-21 international.
He told the Gillingham website: "I have enjoyed settling in with the lads, we have had quite a few games over the past few weeks which has been really good.
Signing on at the Home of the Shouting Men.

"I am very high energy, I like to play forward and run forward, I make runs in behind.
"I am nice, neat and tidy on the ball and I create chances. Hopefully I can pop up with a few goals as well."
Williams is the latest new face through the door at Priestfield this summer, after the earlier arrivals of Elliott Nevitt, Armani Little, Jacob Wakeling, Aaron Rowe, Jack Nolan and Marcus Wyllie.
United, meanwhile, announced on Monday evening that they had already sold 400 tickets to travelling fans for the longest trip of the campaign this weekend.
