A group of Carlisle United supporters are set to march in support of the Blues ahead of their all-Cumbrian clash with Barrow AFC.

Paul Simpson's side welcomes Stephen Clemence's Bluebirds to Brunton Park for their first home league match of the 2024/25 campaign.

This comes off the back of consecutive defeats in their season openers, with a 4-1 defeat against Gillingham FC at Priestfield Stadium in their League Two opener and a 2-0 defeat to Championship side Stoke City in the first round of the Carabao Cup already consigned to history.

In a bid to crank up the atmosphere for the visit of Carlisle United's Cumbrian rivals, the 'Warwick Road End' (WRE), a collective of young fans, is set to march from the Market Cross Monument to Brunton Park ahead of the match's 12:30 pm kick-off.

Ahead of the march, the group explained how they are all behind the club as they settle into the 2024/25 League Two season.

They said: "We will do a march down Warwick Road. We first did a march for the Hartlepool game in 2023 and it was a great starter to build atmosphere ahead of the game.

Now with all that’s happening at the club thanks to the new owners and the WRE’s improvements we all think it will be even better than before.

There will be a new banner that we have for people to stand behind and we will be led by the drum.

"If our voices encourage the team to make their performances that little bit better then it’s all worth it.

"We hope to see all Carlisle fans in the City Centre at 11:30 am on Saturday."

Charlie Gardner is one of the Carlisle United fans who will take part in the march and will set the rhythm with the drum, with the true blue also encouraging fans to attend.

He said: "It’s a big game so I think doing the march before will get everyone fired up before the game and give the Blues as much support as possible.

"Let’s fill Brunton Park out with chants and noise."

Euan Uttley, another Warwick Road End regular also said: "I think the marches are always a great way to boost the atmosphere, especially when it’s a big game like this weekend.

"When everyone is together before a game getting the atmosphere going, it shows how much potential there is for Warwick Road End in the future."
