A pair of Cumbrian brothers have maintained their lead at the top of the British Sidecar Championship after racing at the Cadwell Park Revival event.

Jack and Sam Laidlow from Dufton, near Appleby, have been taking the British Sidecar Championship by storm in their first year, with the pair currently topping the Overall Riders Championship standings following the conclusion of the fifth round at Cadwell Park between Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4.

Jack and Sam currently lead the Overall Riders Championship by two and a half points.

The racing sees two racers operate a Formula One Sidecar which sports a purpose-built chassis and motorcycle engine.

The pair claimed two fourth-place finishes at the Lincolnshire-based circuit, building on their excellent season so far, which includes two victories at Knockhill and Pembrey,  two fourth-place finishes at Donington Park, and two podium finishes at Snetterton.

Over the weekend, the pair also claimed the 2024 British F1 Cup Championship after finishing first in every single race in the category this year.

Following their outing at Cadwell Park, Jack was on hand to express his delight at the results for the duo.

He said: "This was the penultimate round of the British Championship for us and there was a bit of anticipation going into it with some big names and WorldChampionship runners there.

"It was mega fun riding with them all over the weekend and we learned a lot.

"We also are mega happy to say we have won the 2024 British F1 Cup Championship and we are chuffed to say we took first place in every race this season."

The duo are now over in the Netherlands for the fourth round of the FIM World Sidecar Championship at Assen.
