Jamie Devitt has rejoined Carlisle United in an academy coaching role.
The former Blues midfield favourite, who retired from playing last season, has been appointed professional development phase assistant coach.
Devitt, 34, has been helping on the coaching side with United's under-18s in recent weeks.
He has now formally joined the academy staff at Brunton Park and will work with youth team boss Mark Birch in the development of the Blues' under-18 players.
"I’m delighted to be back," Devitt told the club website.
"I’ve been doing a few bits over the last six weeks or so and Birchy has been a massive help.

“I’ve loved every minute of it. The lads have all welcomed me and I’m buzzing to be here full-time, and I just want to help the lads in any way I can.”
Devitt had two playing spells with the Blues, from 2016 to 2019 and then 2022 to 2023, making 151 appearances and scoring 23 goals.
After leaving United at the end of the 2022/23 League Two promotion season, he eventually linked up with Workington Reds as player and joint assistant manager.
Injury then saw the Irish midfielder bring his career to an end while his time at Reds ended with Danny Grainger's departure as manager at the end of last season.
He now returns to Brunton Park permanently and academy manager Steven Rudd said: "We are delighted to welcome Jamie back to the club.
“He will be working full-time with the under 18 players and assisting Mark Birch with the coaching and development of our young players - tasked with the aim of getting players into our first team."
United said Devitt recently completed his UEFA B coaching qualifications as well as Talent Identification Level 2 award.
He will also assist with the coaching of academy players in the 12 to 16 age groups.
Rudd said Devitt's "enthusiasm, knowledge and experience will be invaluable as we look to produce the next Jack Ellis, Taylor Charters, Gabe Breeze, Jarrad Branthwaite, Joe White, Dean Henderson, Liam McCarron, Ryan Carr and many others.”
Manager Paul Simpson said Devitt was "the type of character we want to have at the football club.
“He’s got great football knowledge and a great personality. This is a great opportunity for him to start on his coaching journey working alongside the other academy coaches.”
