Carlisle United is the ninth club of Jordan Jones’ career, the new Blues signing having previously been with Middlesbrough, Hartlepool United, Cambridge United, Kilmarnock (twice), Rangers, Sunderland, Wigan Athletic and St Mirren.

Here’s a look at some of the goals the winger has scored over the years.

After starting at Boro and spending time on loan with Hartlepool and Cambridge, Jones’ career truly got going at Kilmarnock, who he joined in 2016.

His first senior goal came on the big stage of Parkhead, Jones scoring a consolation goal against Celtic in a 3-1 top-flight defeat…

That was the first of three goals in the space of five games, the next being this one in a 2-0 win at Hamilton Academical as Jones pounced on a long throw…

And then Jones was on target for a counter-attacking winner against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in a 2-1 home victory late in his first season north of the border…

Jones then impressed throughout 2017/18, which saw the winger named in the PFA team of the season for the Scottish Premiership. He scored four goals during the campaign, the first coming impressively in a 1-1 draw at Aberdeen…

He was then on target at Celtic again, Jones finishing with composure moments after he had hit the post at Parkhead…

Jones was later on target in some style as Killie fought back for a 2-2 draw with Hibernian…

The following campaign saw a burst of four goals in six games from Jones, starting with this winner at Motherwell as his delivery deceived the keeper…

He then helped pick off two of his future clubs – firstly, with this close-range winner over St Mirren…

And Jones then overshadowed the Rangers debut of Jermain Defoe by scoring from distance to earn Kilmarnock a 2-1 win…

His form earned him a move to Rangers and, from 14 appearances, Jones managed a solitary goal for the Ibrox club – a counter-attacking effort in this 5-1 win at Motherwell early in 2020/21…

 

The second half of the season saw Jones return south of the border on loan and, during his spell at Sunderland, three goals resulted, starting with this stylish strike in a 2-2 draw at Crewe Alexandra…

Jones then showed pace and a deft finish to wrap up a 2-0 win at Portsmouth…

The international stage then beckoned as Jones, first capped by Northern Ireland in 2018, scored his first and only senior goal for the nation three years later – this early strike in a 3-0 win over Malta…

A permanent move to Wigan then followed, while Jones spent part of 2021/22 back in Scotland with St Mirren, where his loan spell brought this cracker in a 4-0 Scottish Cup win over Kelty Hearts…

The next term saw Jones return to Kilmarnock on loan – where he was on target in the cup again with a last-minute winner against Dumbarton…

First-team football then beckoned at Wigan last season with Jones on target in a 2-0 win for the Latics at Exeter City…

Another goal came as Jones helped fire Shaun Maloney’s side to a 3-0 home win over Fleetwood Town.

And what proved his last Wigan goal came in February during a 4-2 defeat to promotion-bound Oxford – and now Carlisle hope to benefit from Jones’ creative influence in 2024/25…
