Carlisle United’s caretaker regime are starting their second week in charge as the search for a new boss continues.
Steven Rudd, Mark Birch and Jamie Devitt remain in interim control whilst the Blues continue the process of hiring a new head coach and sporting director.
Rudd, speaking after Saturday’s defeat to Bradford City, said he expected to speak to the club’s hierarchy for an update on current plans.
But as things stand the three will begin preparations for next weekend’s home clash with Fleetwood Town.
And Rudd says he and his fellow academy coaches will continue to give the job their all for as long as they are in charge of first-team affairs.
“As far as we’re aware [we are carrying on this week],” Rudd told the News & Star.
“We’ll probably have a conversation [with the club] about things, but as long as we're doing it, we'll do things properly, professionally, and try and help the group, help the club and try and turn these results into more positive ones next weekend.”

Rudd, speaking to United’s official outlets immediately after the Bradford game, said he, Birch and Devitt had not yet received a clear indication that they would be in charge for the Fleetwood game.
That ought to be clarified soon depending on the speed of the recruitment process at Brunton Park.
A new bookies’ favourite for the head coach emerged on Saturday night as Gateshead boss Rob Elliot saw his odds cut to 1/2.
But the timing of both the head coach and sporting director appointments remain unclear at this stage.
“If we are in charge next weekend, we need that win to start turning things around and getting points on the board,” added academy manager Rudd.
“We know what we need to do. Cut out mistakes, do the basics really well, same enthusiasm, character and desire as [on Saturday] and just be better all over the pitch.
“I think once they get that first win, they can really believe and buy in and that'll be the start of the season, but we need it sooner rather than later."
