Fleetwood Town boss Charlie Adam expects there to be a “reaction” from Carlisle United to their current predicament.
The manager of Saturday’s opponents has also highlighted some of the attacking players to be wary of in the Blues side.
Adam’s team are the first league visitors to Brunton Park since Paul Simpson’s departure, as United move closer to appointing a successor.
The need to impress both their caretaker regime and prospective new bosses could lift the Cumbrians, Adam has warned.
“Paul has left, there is a new [interim] management team in, they’re looking for a new manager, and they’ll get a reaction,” said Adam.
“I thought they did well enough against Bradford, watching that game.
“Ultimately they lost the game but they’ve got players who can hurt you on their day – Jordan Jones and Charlie Wyke at the top end of the pitch are good players, and Dominic Sadi on the other side, on his day, can hurt you and cause problems.
“We have to be wary of what Carlisle are going to bring but we have to have a good game plan to cause them problems.”
Fleetwood, who like United were relegated from League One last season, have started with a win, two draws and a defeat in the league.
They sit 18th in League Two, having played a game fewer than a number of other sides after international call-ups saw them out of action last weekend.
Former Rangers, Blackpool, Stoke City and Liverpool midfielder Adam hopes the break will leave his team refreshed for their fixtures ahead, starting with the trip to Brunton Park.
“We are carrying a smaller squad this season and it’s nice to have a bit of a break, but we want to get back at it.
“We want to try and keep winning football managers. We know Carlisle changed their shape against Bradford, and that might be a wee bit similar to what we are, but we look to go into the game and win it.”

Fleetwood will be without injured defender Zech Medley but Adam, speaking at a press conference, said midfielder Ryan Graydon could return.
He said his team’s aim will be to ensure United, in front of their home crowd, do not gain momentum.
“That’s something we have to do as the away team at most grounds – quieten the crowd, silence that, take the sting out of the game, but stamp our game on what we want to do and what we feel we can cause Carlisle probs with,” Adam added.
“There are things [we have to learn from in the defeat to] AFC Wimbledon that we have to take to Carlisle. It’s back-to-back away games, and a big pitch.
“We should have more points on the board but performance-wise we’ve been ok and will get better as the season goes on.”
