Carlisle United fans gave us their views on X after the 3-2 defeat to Fleetwood Town - here's a selection of their comments.

The first half hour was up there with the most embarrassing ever, absolute shambles, we looked like a team who had met in the car park five minutes before kick off, got better, but once they scored third our lack of fitness was evident yet again, we're in a relegation fight (@matty017)

Losing mentality looks embedded, he’ll need to be a miracle worker to sort this shambles out (@keithelliott94)

The first half was disjointed and laboured with no energy or urgency. Lewis’ job is to stop shots, he faced 4 shots on target and conceded 3, he doesn’t make saves, surely time for Breeze. We’re a great team on paper but unfortunately we play on grass. Tough job for the new man (@Wisey6575)

It doesn't count if you play your way back into the game and still lose. Possibly not having Vela/Neal on at the start conceded the midfield but...we just can't defend. Hopeless. Inept. We have to sort this out, or we will be staring the National League in the face. (@BruceVander)

We're lacking a lot of confidence, making some basic errors and lacking pace and the ability to defend against direct play. Poor last 10 minutes of aimlessly lumping the ball into the box and straight to the keeper. (@Rich_W27)

I’m tired of being in a bad mood on Saturday evenings! The midfield is a mess, we’re losing that battle every time and really struggle against any sort of press. Going to be another long season. (@stewelsh)

Fed up of losing week in week out, our defence has more holes in it than a sieve. We need the new management in asap to try and steady the sinking ship (not that I'm blaming Ruddy & co). On the plus side we scored 2 goals in a game for the first time since Easter weekend. (@skythelimit1970)

Could have been a cricket score after the first 2 went in, not sure why Fleetwood looked happy to settle then. I think it's getting worse every time I've seen them this season. Mellish in midfield was terrible, not sure 1 sitting player and 5 attacking midfielders is sensible with this defence (@JonnytheGrouch)

Lost 2nd balls for the majority of the game and only looked dangerous when we had runners in behind.... we had runners in behind for maybe 20 minutes of the whole game! Confidence is shot, gotta hope new management gets a horrible, dirty 1 nil win to get them playing (@ChrisWi98306072)

Genuinely feel exhausted watching it…..new Sporting Director & Head Coach needs to arrive with bells and whistles coz this is now beyond a League One hangover and into a footballing recession. Toothless, gutless, leaderless, absolutely pointless at the moment (@Invisiblebear84)

We’ve conceded the first shot on target against us in every game this season apart from Barrow. And that’s only because they didn’t have one. The defenders aren’t helping - but at some point soon there needs to be a discussion about the fact that Lewis doesn’t save ANYTHING. (@RyanWood85)

Players played out of position, no real desire to pass forward, no runners. Need direction immediately. (@FeelingHoly)

Under 10s are more prepared at the start of a match than these lot (@PaulMar21281685)

Peeve after what was an awful performance players don't seem to want to do the basics right (@smithyblues)

Best to forget the first 40 minutes, it was dreadful with our defence all over the place. Second half there was an improvement but the defence creaked again and we were undone yet again. This run of form is an embarrassment to the club and the new owners. Manager please asap. (@peterjo91525330)

The fact I could've predicted this would be the post match tweet before the match is the problem. utterly dreadful at the moment (@CUFC_Shay)

Unprepared, unorganised & players performing well below what they are capable of. We are 6 games in and already having to put Mellish into midfield and throwing a youth player on at the end to try and get something out of the game! How is our squad so weak? (@Joecufc2006)

Why Mellish in midfield when true midfielders on bench. Square pegs in round holes does not work. Injuries have taken their toll but we should have accounted for the possibility (@frostie_)

Where do you even start? Midfield - non existent. Ball progression? Woeful. Creativity for front two? Goalkeeper that can't stop a bag cement! New manager/SD can't come soon enough. (@bruntonblue10)

Well the changes didn't work. The midfield was non existent first half. Injuries are a problem again. To get back in it was possibly unexpected but Wykes 2nd was an example of how to work a goal. To lose to an unmarked man in the 18 yard box is criminal. We are in trouble (@LindaNi121202)
