Defender Aaron Hayden is expected to be out for “a few weeks”, new Carlisle United head coach Mike Williamson says.
The centre-back was not in the squad for Williamson’s first game in charge as the Blues won 2-0 at Swindon Town.
And United’s new boss suggested the former Wrexham man won’t be back in the short term.
“He [Hayden] will be a few more weeks,” said Williamson after the game at the County Ground.
“I think he's tweaked his calf. I can’t shed any more light at the moment.”
In the absence of Hayden and the still-sidelined Terell Thomas, Williamson selected Ben Barclay, Sam Lavelle and Jon Mellish as a central defensive three at Swindon.
Thomas, who has been nursing a hamstring problem, is not expected to be out for much longer.
“I think Terrell should be [back] in the near future,” said Williamson.
In the absence of the two summer signings, Carlisle defended doggedly to earn their second clean sheet of the season.
It was also their first shut-out on the road since April’s 1-0 win at Cheltenham Town.
