Carlisle United were thrashed 4-0 at AFC Wimbledon – so how did we rate the players at the Cherry Red Records Stadium?

HARRY LEWIS – 4

Not, perhaps, the main culprit for the defeat, but nor was there any sense of command when the ball came into United’s box until it was far too late.

BEN BARCLAY – 3

United’s attempts to work the ball out in the first half were often excruciating and Barclay was among the many who was caught out.

SAM LAVELLE – 3

Tilley’s crosses set United problems they failed to answer all game, and there was never any grip on Stevens and co from Lavelle and his colleagues.

JON MELLISH – 4

You can never question Mellish’s commitment, which was there in a futile second half effort from Carlisle. But Wimbledon were better in every single department.

ARCHIE DAVIES – 3

Wimbledon threatened on the left, threatened on the right and down the middle. Davies couldn’t get up the pitch, was outdone defensively and hooked at half-time.

CAMERON HARPER – 3

A mirror of Davies on the other side for the most part, made a few better inroads in the second half but these were token moments, and own-goal capped a poor day.

HARRISON NEAL – 3

Wimbledon’s midfielders taught United an object lesson in pressing and speed of movement. Neal, like everyone else in that department, was inferior to his opponent.

JOSH VELA – 3

Started in a more advanced role to the left, but made very little impression and, once Wimbledon quickly established control, he was chasing shadows.

HARRISON BIGGINS – 3

When Wimbledon exposed Carlisle, Biggins was anonymous and was unable to offer anything to threaten the home side in response.

DOMINIC SADI – 3

No opportunity to showcase his attacking skills, for United were so inferior to the Dons for too long.

CHARLIE WYKE – 3

Not much came his way, and what did tended to come straight back. Wimbledon dominated the odd exchange with the captain and he was subbed at half-time.

Subs: Luke Armstrong – 4 – Unable to get on end of anything.

Jack Robinson – 4 – Right-sided role did not turn tide.

Callum Guy – 5 – A few glimpses of his much-missed reliability.

Taylor Charters – 5 – First league outing of season in lost cause.

Star man – Nobody deserves this accolade on such an appalling day.
