Paul Huntington made his Bradford City debut as he helped the Bantams to a win and a clean sheet.
The former Carlisle United captain came off the bench for Graham Alexander’s side in the closing stages of their 2-0 win at Tranmere Rovers.
It was 37-year-old defender Huntington’s first outing since his move to Valley Parade on a deal until January.
After replacing Tyreik Wright in the 84th minute, the Carlisle-born defender and his team-mates held off Tranmere in the closing stages to seal a League Two win earned by Andy Cook’s two-goal haul.
Huntington faced a Tranmere attack that included his former Blues team-mate Omari Patrick, with Kristian Dennis having been replaced at half-time by the Wirral side, who are winless in six in the league since their 2-1 victory at Carlisle on August 31.
A host of other ex-Blues were in the thick of the action over the weekend.

Richie Bennett’s penalty helped Scarborough Athletic reach the first round proper with a 3-1 win over Chester.
In the Northern Premier League Premier Division, Steven Rigg’s double earned Workington Reds a 2-1 win over Ilkeston Town at Borough Park.
Nathan Buddle’s goal saw Morpeth Town draw 1-1 against Whitby Town, for whom former Carlisle trialist Stephen Walker netted.
Darren Edmondson’s Penrith returned to winning ways in Northern League Division One, their 2-0 win at West Auckland Town coming courtesy of Jame Bell and DJ Taylor.
Manager Dan Kirkup, meanwhile, was sent off as his Carlisle City side were beaten 3-2 at home by Whitley Bay in the same division.
North of the border, Ethan Walker hit Ayr United’s winner as they defeated Peterhead 2-1 in the fourth round.
Goalkeeper Tomas Holy, meanwhile, enjoyed his first victory and clean sheet with new club FC Banik Most-Sous in the Czech Republic.
They claimed a 5-0 third tier win over Usti nad Orlici.
