Bookmakers are still cool on the prospect of Carlisle United being relegated.

Despite the Cumbrians now sitting at the bottom of League Two, several other sides are rated more likely to go down.

The Cumbrians remain as long as 13/2 with some bookies for a second successive relegation.

Those odds are offered by Bet365, BoyleSports and QuinnBet, following United's fall to 24th position after last weekend's 4-0 defeat at AFC Wimbledon.

The bookies, though, expect United to pull clear, with other strugglers rated much likelier candidates for the drop.

Second-bottom Morecambe, who are ahead of Carlisle on goal difference, are favourites to go down.

The Shrimps, who won their first league game of the season at Barrow last Saturday, are Evens for relegation with Bet365, 11/10 with William Hill and 5/4 with BetVictor.

Second favourites for relegation are Newport County, despite the Exiles sitting in 13th.

The Welsh side are priced 2/1 with Bet365 and 15/8 with Betfair.

Third-bottom Accrington Stanley, who are two points above Carlisle with a game in hand, are 3/1 with Bet365 and 11/4 with BetFred.

Cheltenham Town, who are fourth bottom, are next at a price of 7/2 (Bet365) with United's next opponents Harrogate Town also having a shorter relegation price than the Blues at 9/4, despite sitting 14th in the table after 11 games.

Carlisle's odds of 13/2 are shared by fifth-bottom Bromley.

United, meanwhile, are 14/1 to finish bottom of the pile, with Morecambe 2/1 favourites.

The Blues' promotion odds have inevitably lengthened as a result of their poor start to the campaign.

They are now 50/1 to go up (Betfair) and 500/1 for the title (BetVictor).

If you fancy a resurgent United side to reach the play-offs, odds of 16/1 are available (SkyBet), and the Blues to win the play-offs is 50/1.
