Carlisle United fans gave us their reaction on X after the 1-0 home defeat to Cheltenham Town - here's a selection of their comments.

Awful. The worst home performance of the season. Under Williamson, the team is leaking confidence. Nobody knows what to do or what is the style of play. Armstrong totally isolated. Players who can't see a pass. The nightmare of relegation looms ever larger. Best to Charlie. (@BruceVander)

Instead of an uplifting documentary akin to This Is Wrexham, it feels like I'm watching/listening to a Mockumentary in the style of This Country. "This Is xxxx" - insert word of choice. So many things are at fault with no chance of rectifying enough of them in time to save us. (@1StevieKilner)

The situation has became intolerable right now. MW obviously does not have the answers to get the club out of this mess. I feel sorry for the owners as they appear to have made the wrong choice of manager and should look for experience before it is too late. Fans deserve better. (@peterjo91525330)

No positive comments I'm afraid. Shambles goal conceded. I think first shot on target 95th minute. Owners serious thinking to do this evening.. (@alantorchwood)

You employ a manager like Williamson when your own manager has been poached due to the team playing well, not dragging their backsides on the floor for the past 18 months. We needed somebody with a bit of the dog in him, someone who will kick backsides. Today was another new low. (@brennyboy66)

What I’m picking up tonight is many supporters saying not going back, why should I bother with a club that constantly makes bad decision and gives us dross? Having listened to MW’s tepid interview I’d be tempted to do that, but 62 years on from my first game I’m too invested. (@griffsback)

Just more rubbish we can give excuses, we can apportion blame but it's simply all been said, unacceptable & changes have got to happen & quickly. (@Dougmacd9826)

First half was one of the most inept, dispiriting and gutless performances I have seen in 50+ years of watching this team. Maybe the Piataks know a Ted Lasso who could work his magic on them? (@MikeEwins)

What hope have you got when you concede a goal like that! Miles off it first half! 2nd or 3rd to every ball! Us fans have had an awful 17 months and have a right to an opinion (@d3ano1928)

Absolutely rubbish as per usual, we look forward to the next announcement of SD, will they get that right probably not. (@keithelliott94)

In my mind the blame is with the players, their attitude stinks, footballers who can't play football, and at the same time have fitness levels of a Sunday league team, anyone who blames the owners need to give their head a shake, absolute idiots (@matty017)

Totally unacceptable. We need people in this club that know what they are doing as at the moment it’s a complete shambles. Wrong manager appointed its mistake after mistake on the football side since the Piataks took over. (@Mullen103)

Shocking performance! Williamson is not the answer. He does not inspire confidence. The owners are doing some great things for the club, but they really need to take a hard look at the football side of the Blues. Whoever has been advising them needs to go. (@cufcfanvote)

The performance was woeful, the tactics were shambolic & we have to extend our best wishes to Charlie Wyke, but with a longer term view, football knowledge at the most senior level in the club is needed urgently, as we are rudderless & completely devoid of capability. Change is needed! (@MarkWard18)

There is something rotten with this squad's DNA. Mike tried the kick-and-hope strategy in the first half and looked awful. It looked better in the second half, but we lack simple football basics. The Ref was horrific and should be reported for incompetence. (@MarketMobsterUK)

Just when is the win coming? Fa cup so a break from league before Salford and Bromley which is a must win at least or draw before Doncaster at home. I'll take 4 or 6 pts before donny. (@Olgathefox21)

Well done Soph Mason RC for persisting with those questions. That's my only positive from today. (@MandyDav801)

Groundhog day, the previous coaching regime couldn't address problems of their making nor can the new coaching regime. Players are weak in play and more, sadly, weak in mind. Worst squad of players in all my years watching. (@carlisl9125)

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE (@cufccraig1983)

Williamson just gave his post match to @bbccumbriasport he's starting to sound like Steven Pressley, plus he's playing some kind of emotional heart strings card "the lads are hurting in there" we are just not up to it and the GK has a lot to answer for ..costing us like last yr (@LindaNi121202)
