A pair of Cumbrian brothers scooped the new lap record and added to their trophy haul after dominating at the Northern Irish Sunflower Trophy meeting.
Sam and Jack Laidlow from Dufton, near Appleby took part in the prestigious meeting at Bishopscourt Racing Circuit in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland weeks after being crowned British Sidecar Champions in their debut season.
Sidecar racing sees two racers operate a Formula One Sidecar which sports a purpose-built chassis and motorcycle engine.
At the event, which took place between Friday, October 18, and Sunday, October 20, Sam and Jack faced stiff competition from many Superbike riders including current and past British champions and top Irish riders.
The weekend started with qualifying in 'dreadful' conditions with the brothers taking second place behind the current Irish champions on their 1000cc bike.
However, the three races across the weekend were a great success with the pair claiming the Bishopscourt lap record as well as being awarded the President's Cup for outstanding achievement from the Scottish Sidecar Racing Association.
The brothers also claimed the Ben Waterfield Memorial Trophy for the 'most inspiring team'.
Speaking after their successful weekend in Northern Ireland, Sam and Jack said: "After the honour of winning the British Championship we were straight back out to the prestigious Sunflower meeting at Bishops Court in Northern Ireland having been invited there earlier in the year.
"We are now focusing on getting sorted for next year and a new bike is being built for us in Germany.
"In the meantime, we have been asked to take part in Motorbike Live at the NEC Birmingham between November 16 and 24."
