Carlisle United fans gave us their reaction on X after the 1-0 win at Salford City - here's a selection of their views.
Not pretty, but effective. Defending in depth. Lavelle had a great game. Going forward we looked a bit lightweight, easily edged off the ball. But. A win was required and the lads delivered. COYB. (@BruceVander)
Great away day - the tonic the fans needed. Battling defensive performance throughout, but no marks for midfield creativity or forward line threat, until substitutions changed the game. From then on, there was only going to be one winner. Full marks to the manager for that. (@MikeEwins)
First half was poor but we stayed in the game. Second half we played so much better, asked them a lot of questions and the winner at the end was sweet as they come. Gabe Breeze brings a calmness and the defence looks more solid. Some great effort 2nd half and a well deserved win (@Wisey6575)
Certainly looked better in the second half. Grinding out wins very important when near the bottom of the league. Hopefully better things now for Carlisle (@alantorchwood)
Defended well in the first half and stayed in the game. Improved second half and took their chance. Important to get the win after last week and build confidence in the squad. Another big game next week, hopefully a couple more back from injury. (@andrewhoddie)
Defence and Breeze looked solid. Otherwise a fairly poor performance. Better in the second half. Sadi was the stand out performance. An unexpected, but very welcome win in the end. (@EarnThtDanegeld)
Defensively solid. As they game wore on, they gained confidence to push on and look for more than a point and were well rewarded for their endeavours. Not the prettiest but who cares! (@CowellLes1975)
Ground out a result and that’s all that really matters. Poor offensively first half, improved second without ever looking like scoring until Big Ben arrived. Lavelle excellent as was Thomas, Sadi was lively after the break, Harris will come good. (@Halpinforpope)
Solid if unspectacular. Sadi impressed, need to get him on the ball more. Great delivery from Biggins for the goal. UTB (@J4ck_C0u51n)
I'll have the 2nd half all day long for the next 6 months. Solid defence again. Fought hard again. But I'll temper it by saying that 1st half cannot be repeated. (@FeelingHoly)
Them fans 1st class. Inspired performance from Gabe & gives the defence confidence. Midfield for me still lacks ability but? A result and long may it continue (@bruntonblue10)
It’s such a fine line between stupid and clever. Even with a lacklustre midfield and misfiring strikers the Blues found a way. Take it, peeve gratefully and move on (@JHallHDI)
If you don’t make silly mistakes and don’t concede at one end, chances will always come at the other (@Metty38)
Great result. Ground it out. Much better in second half. Harris looks decent. Thought Burey was decent too. (@Blencath007)
Watched on Sky and could see the difference the new manager has made in keeping possession. We should have had two more along with the one we got. Keep on pressing on. (@Alan_Matthews)
We won and what a fabulous 3 points! #cufc (@MarkWard18)
Still lots of work to be done. Still have no faith in Williamson (@dougrmurphy)
We take the points and move on, a few more plus points and it’s a happy trip back (@keithelliott94)
Excellent result wasn’t pretty in the game at times but some great positives to take from the game. Clean sheet for Gabe Breeze and 3 points and of course defensively we was excellent so hopefully we can use this as a turning point and push on and start climbing the table (@Ameliasdad1994)
