Ohh that was fun, with my eight-year-old son, in a bouncing away end celebrating a late winner. A little reminder of why we all turn up week in week out through the bad times.
All for moments like that as Ben Barclay launched himself at Harrison Biggins' corner and sent a wall of Cumbrians wild.
The game itself was less of a spectacle than those celebrations. Short on chances and quality from both sides but like the previous game against Wigan, Mike Williamson’s team showed the grit and determination we all love.
Gabe Breeze again looked comfortable in goal and whilst we weren’t at our most fluid, particularly in the first half other than a couple of our own errors, an in-form Salford team didn’t really break through our defence.
Three points on the board will have made many a weekend but what’s important now is to back that result up in front of another sold-out away end against Bromley.
In Trust news the installation of the initial batch of the memorial plaques has now been completed in the Memory Garden at Brunton Park. If you have ordered one and it is not yet placed, fear not as we are awaiting delivery of the latest batch of plaques and they will be installed as soon as possible.
Our AGM has been confirmed for December 1 and we have four confirmed candidates for the four available roles. They are current board members Billy, Dan and Kieron, and newcomer Riegan Thompson.
Dave Noble has decided not to stand for re-election. Dave has been an integral part of the Trust over the last couple of years and his contributions will be missed. Thanks for all you have done Dave.
You can read all of the candidates' statements on our website www.cust.org.uk/notice-of-annual-general-meeting/
As there are only four candidates for the four available seats the election process will be different this year to the previous AGM. Instead of picking a preferred candidate, members will be given a Yes/No vote for each candidate.
Details of how to vote will be sent to members via their nominated email address.
We hope to see as many of you at the AGM as possible.
Until then - up the Blues.
