Freddie O'Donoghue wrote his name into Carlisle United history with his midweek goal against Morecambe.
The teenager's first goal for the Blues made him the club's third youngest scorer of all time.
O'Donoghue was 17 years and 299 days old when he scored the equaliser at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy on Tuesday.
Only two players - Jarrad Branthwaite and Rob Edwards - have been younger when finding the net for the first team.
Branthwaite is the youngest at 17 years and 138 days when he scored, also against Morecambe in the EFL Trophy, and on the same date - November 12 - in 2019.
That broke the record set by Edwards when he scored a penalty for the Blues against Maidstone United in Division Four on September 8, 1990 aged 17 years and 250 days.
Second-year youth team forward O'Donoghue has beaten the young scoring records of a host of other teenage marksmen for the Cumbrians.
His goal at Morecambe came earlier in his Blues career than, for instance, Matty Fryatt, who was 17 years and 303 days old when the loanee scored against Boston United in January 2004.
A former United youth product, Cameron Salkeld, was 17 years and 338 days old when he scored his debut goal against Fleetwood Town in the Trophy in November 2016.
O'Donoghue was also younger than legendary winger George McVitie, who set the record for United's youngest scorer in September 1966 when he scored in a Division Two game against Bristol City aged 18 years and 14 days.
Another teenage scorer, Gary Madine, was 18 years and six days old when he opened his United account against Yeovil Town in August 2008.
O'Donoghue's goal, which helped Carlisle come from behind to win 2-1, came in his fifth first-team appearance. The Isle of Man teenager was also in the United XI the following day that claimed an impressive 1-0 win at Barnsley in the FA Youth Cup second round.
United, meanwhile, have given debuts to a host of 16-year-olds this season, who have joined the list of Carlisle's youngest ever players.
Hayden Atkinson, Jonah Lowes and Seb Mason have all played in the first team before turning 17.
Defender Atkinson was the youngest when making his debut at 16 years and 276 days.
That makes him United's fourth youngest debutant, while midfielder Lowes is fifth youngest at 16 years and 280 days when he made his first appearance. Mason is eighth youngest at 16 years and 313 days.
The record is held by John Slaven, who was 16 years and 159 days old when he made his debut against Scunthorpe United in March 2022.
Dan Dillon and Dan Kirkup are next on the list.
Atkinson and Lowes were younger than Rory Delap, who was a record holder when he made his debut in 1993 aged 16 years and 306 days, and also younger than Stephen Hindmarch, who was 16 years and 297 days old when first playing for United's first team.
This season's three 16-year-olds were also younger than Tony Hopper, who was 16 years and 342 days old when he made his senior debut in 1993 in the same game as Delap, at Scarborough.
David Molloy is another 16-year-old United debutant from years gone by - he was 16 and 356 when he first played in 2003.
Tony Hopper's son Dan has also made his debut this season, although slightly older than when his dad first pulled on the shirt. Dan was 17 years and 144 days when making his first Blues outing.
