Sporting director Rob Clarkson is continuing to assess the off-field shape of Carlisle United as he further settles into his role.
The recent Blues arrival is approaching the end of his second week at the club.
Head coach Mike Williamson says he is continuing to hold plenty of discussions with Clarkson.
And the new man is leaning on his contacts as he works on areas for improvement at Brunton Park.
“It’s just been a lot of assessing, a lot of conversations and a lot of things that I'm speaking to him [Clarkson] about, what he wants to put in place,” said Williamson.
“He's pulling on his experience and his contacts, so there's a lot of work going on.
“I think it's going to take time to really see the fruits and see the changes in and around it. We're in a good moment, so we've just got to keep building.”
Clarkson joined Carlisle last month as part of the plan by the club’s owners, the Piatak family, to revamp the Blues’ off-field structure.
A key early priority for the sporting director will be to get plans in place for the January transfer window, which is only a month and a half away.
Williamson has said he hopes that by working closely with Clarkson, the Cumbrians can achieve some “quick wins” alongside the intended longer-term benefits of the new structure at the club.
Clarkson, in a CUTV interview, explained that everything on the football side of the organisation will fall under his remit, such as the coaching team, analysts, performance team, medical and academy.
“My role is to make sure all those parts of the club are working to the best standards possible,” said the former Rangers, Manchester City and Football Association man.
“We’ve got a lot of work to do between now and January in terms of identifying players who may be able to come and help us, and try and get us into a better position in the league table.”
