Hundreds of runners took to the streets over the weekend for an historic race.
Sunday, November 17 saw the 72nd running of the Brampton to Carlisle 10 mile Road Race which is officially the oldest 10 mile road race still being competed in Britain.
The day began cool and frosty, but that didn't put off the hundreds of athletes who were on the start line for the 10am start.
In a slight change to the usual procedure, instead of the race being started by the firing of the starting pistol, one of the event sponsors - Stalkers Transport Services Ltd of Brampton - had the latest addition to their fleet in a special black and white livery in support of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation start the race with a blast of its horn.

The race started on Longtown Road in Brampton, just outside of William Howard school and finished on Eden Bridge in Carlisle city centre.
Previous winners include Ron Hill, Steve Cram and Angie Pain.
