By Dave Noble - Carlisle United Supporters' Trust
An information board on the concourse at Hayes Lane, Bromley advises that they are aware things are not perfect, but that they are working on making it better.
It is in relation to the facilities for visiting supporters, but could just as easily have been erected by the visiting team.
By the final whistle it was clear that our progress being made towards ‘better’ was very much evident with most leaving the away end (which really requires no apology for, Hello Barrow!) disappointed that we would be heading north without back to back league wins on the road, despite having only salvaged a point in the final knockings.
Four points from six on our travels with a real chance on another day it could have been the maximum is a big step in the right direction for this squad and the coaching team who are adjusting and finding ways of grinding up the points total, not always necessarily in the fashion that they may ideally desire.
With two big home games coming up, it is imperative that we back the team to continue this resurgent, albeit fledgling unbeaten run as we bid to climb the table.
That aforementioned sign could also relate to the Trust. We, as a board are well aware that we are not perfect, but as I personally step down at the AGM, I can assure you that although everything we have tried may not always have been the envisioned success, everything has always been and always will be done with the best intentions of the fans of Carlisle United at the core and continual future improvement is always with a view to making the Trust a stronger voice for the fan base of this great football club and to enhancing the fan experience of following the Blues.
With that it mind, another reminder that our AGM takes place at 11am on Sunday 1st December in Foxy’s. Instructions on voting will be with members via email shortly and candidate statements for those standing for election are on our website www.cust.org.uk/notice-of-annual-general-meeting/
There will be a Q&A with the new board members following the main procedural business, so it will be an excellent opportunity to step out from behind an online nom de plume and provide constructive criticism or suggestions to help improve the Trust and discuss how that can be achieved to all our benefit.
