DONCASTER Rovers manager Grant McCann has praised an 'improving' Carlisle United ahead of his side's trip to Brunton Park.
Carlisle United welcome The Rovers to Cumbria as they look to claim only their second home League Two victory this season.
However, Mike Williamson's Blues come into the clash buoyed by positive performances and results on the road, with a last-gasp victory against Salford City and a score draw with Bromley under their belt.
Their latest opponents Doncaster currently occupy third position in League Two and come into the clash off the back of a 1-1 draw against Salford City.
Ahead of the fixture, Rovers boss Grant McCann discussed Carlisle's recent performance and discussed the Cumbrian's emerging style of play.
Speaking on the club's YouTube channel, he said: "It's a difficult one really to speak about what has happened because I do not know the full ins and outs but what I do know is that they [Carlisle United] have a good manager who has a good style of play, who is slowly but surely changing the dynamic of the team to who he wants to play.
"We can see that they are slowly getting better and improving, not because the results have been better over the last three or four games but because you can see the style of play coming out.
"We all know that if you perform and continue to play the way you are being coached and the manager wants to work things will change and we saw that last year with ourselves.
"We are expecting a tough game, it always is in Carlisle with their really die-hard loyal fans who always make a lot of noise and hopefully we can go there and put on a really good performance and get three points."
McCann also praised Mike Williamson's efforts in trying to make his style of play evident in his Carlisle United style and expressed his belief that the Blues have the quality to play possession-based and forward-thinking football.
He said: "It takes time, the way he wants to play you have to be coached consistently and drilled in it every single day and you know those things will take time.
"You can see the MK Dons, Gateshead style of play coming out, particularly in the last three or four games and it has helped them in terms of results as well.
"I always knew he would get it right, he did quite well at MK Dons and tremendously at Gateshead so he is a good young manager who plays the game the right way.
"He wants to dominate the ball and create chances and he has got some good players at Carlisle who can do that for him and who are adjusting to his style of play."
