CARLISLE United defender Terell Thomas will be out for 'eight to 10 weeks' with a hamstring injury, Mike Williamson has confirmed.

The Blues were buoyed by the return of players such as Dylan McGeouch, Aaron Hayden, and Georgie Kelly against Doncaster Rovers with the latter making his first appearance for Williamson's Carlisle United.

However, Carlisle now know that they will be without defender Terell Thomas for a least two months after the 29-year-old, who was signed in the summer window, suffered a hamstring injury whilst on international duty with Saint Lucia last week.

Speaking to the News & Star after the Blues' goalless draw with the Rovers, Williamson revealed the extent of the defender's injury.

He said: "I think we are looking at the eight to 10-week mark.

"It is disappointing but he is here and he wants to be around the boys and be involved in every area that he can but again we have got that strength in depth and hopefully he has a speedy recovery and comes back fitter and stronger."

Despite the disconcerting news surrounding the length of Terell Thomas' impending injury lay-off, Williamson did share positive updates on the recovery of other Carlisle United stars such as Harrison Biggins and Jordan Jones ahead of the visit of Crewe Alexandra.

He said: "Touch wood no issues Jordan [Jones] will be able to be involved next week and Biggo [Harrison Biggins] we are hopeful as well.

"We have got to see how their progression goes this week but fingers crossed I will have a lot of headaches next week."
