Carlisle United striker Anton Dudik is set to extend his loan spell with South Shields.
Head coach Mike Williamson has confirmed that the National League North club want to keep the young Ukrainian forward for longer.
Dudik has spent the last month with the north east club.
The 19-year-old is now set to continue at 1st Cloud Arena until the end of the year.
“It’s about to be extended,” Williamson told the News & Star.
“I’d say that, at the minute, with the size of the squad we have here, [coming back] would minimise his game time.
“It’s a good experience for him [at South Shields] and it’s a good club.
“They want to extend it, so that's positive – we know a few of the lads there and he is fitting really well with his personality, and he works really hard.
“You know what you're going to get with him so it's been positive so far.”
Dudik, who joined South Shields for an initial month in late October, made his latest appearance for Elliott Dickman’s Mariners came as a substitute in their 4-2 win at Alfreton Town.
That was his sixth appearance for the tenth-placed club, a tally which includes one start and five outings from the bench, Dudik awaiting his first goal for Dickman’s side.
Should a loan extension be confirmed then Dudik could make his next loan appearance against Peterborough Sports this weekend.
