Carlisle United’s main rivals are back in action in the League Two survival battle tonight.
Both Swindon Town and Morecambe, whom the Blues overtook on Saturday, have away games.
The pair are a point behind Mike Williamson’s side as they prepare for their games in hand.
Bottom side Morecambe go to fourth-bottom Tranmere Rovers, who are themselves in trouble just four points above the drop zone.
And second-bottom Swindon go to Colchester United, who are also in the lower reaches in 18th but unbeaten in five, and five points above the bottom two.
Should either Derek Adams' Morecambe or Ian Holloway's Swindon avoid defeat it will send the Cumbrians back into the relegation places, with their goal difference still superior to United’s.
Both sides were in FA Cup second round action on Saturday, Morecambe defeating Bradford City 1-0 while Swindon lost on penalties to Accrington Stanley.
Others in the survival scrap are in action, with 19th-placed Accrington Stanley going to Grimsby Town.
United’s next opponents, 16th-placed Newport County, are at AFC Wimbledon.
Other games in the division see Cheltenham Town at home to Port Vale, MK Dons hosting Chesterfield, Walsall at home to Notts County, Barrow at Bradford, and Salford City at home to Harrogate Town.
Another struggler will be in action tomorrow with fifth-bottom Bromley at home to Gillingham, while Fleetwood Town host Doncaster Rovers tomorrow.
