Harrison Biggins is ready to return for Carlisle United this weekend after coming through training unscathed.
Boss Mike Williamson says the loan midfielder has "looked good" on the training pitch as he targets a comeback from a calf injury.
Biggins has been out since the win at Salford City on November 9.
He will now add to United's options for the trip to Newport County on Saturday.
"He has been fully back this week," said Williamson today.
"He's fit for selection - he adds to the numbers and has trained really well.
"He's got the bit between his teeth. He wants to make as big an impact as possible.
"I think everyone sees that the competition for places is quite fierce at the minute.
"So everyone trained really well this week and it'll be a difficult selection for even the squad now going to Newport."
Biggins has made 11 appearances so far for the Blues and Williamson believes the Shrewsbury Town loanee can add some important attributes to the team.
"His energy, his enthusiasm, his desire to take on the detail," the Blues boss added to the News & Star.
"He's got good experience, he wants to lead in every way he can.
"We've had a few good conversations about his development and where we see him.
"He's popped up in the four and the eight [positions] for us. He's got the technical ability to be competent in those areas. But also the energy, and that's one of the big things. We want to be as high-energy as possible."
Williamson said a couple of players are being "wrapped in cotton wool" ahead of Saturday's trip to south Wales but reported no new serious injury concerns.
He is also pleased to have defender Jon Mellish back for suspension for the clash with Nelson Jardim's Newport.
"He put some graft in today in training," Williamson said of Mellish.
"He loves to open his legs up and go on those gallivanting runs. It's good to have him back."
Williamson said players recently back from injury are making good progress as they build up their fitness.
"Georgie Kelly trains like an absolute animal - he trains like he plays," said the Blues head coach.
"Jordan [Jones] is a tough one because he always looks like he's got that energy, and even when he did his calf [in October], he came off the pitch and no-one knew anything about it, and then he said, 'I feel something,' so maybe we've got to be more careful, because you don't see any visual signs of fatigue with him.
"But everyone else is making good progress, Dylan [McGeouch] and the guys that have been in and around and playing minutes, everyone's getting fitter and stronger."
